Myths About Me
You, but more... Mythical.
You, but more... Mythical.
Tell a myth, legend, or folktale about yourself—but make it larger than life.
You are not just a person in this story. You are a figure of mythic proportions.
Your greatest moment? Exaggerated beyond belief.
Your worst day? Turned into a cosmic battle.
Your most annoying habit? Now a divine curse.
Take a piece of your life—something real, even small—and transform it into an epic tale.
Your story should be told as if it is part of legend—ancient, exaggerated, full of awe and mystery.
You can be a hero, a villain, a trickster, or something beyond human.
Explain something about yourself—a habit, a skill, a quirk—through mythic storytelling.
Play with grand, dramatic language. Gods, fate, curses, prophecies—lean into it.
Use humor or deep reflection, or both.
"The Origin of My Greatest Trait" – How did you get your best quality? Was it gifted to you by gods? Did you steal it from the heavens? Did you wrestle it from fate?
"Why I Can’t Do That One Simple Thing" – A tragic, ridiculous myth about why you can’t cook, dance, whistle, wake up on time, etc. (e.g., “I once challenged the Sun itself to a battle, and now I cannot rise before noon.”)
"The Curse I Carry" – A myth about a personal flaw or insecurity, written as if it were an ancient curse.
"How I Stole Fire (or Something Like It)" – A mythic retelling of a time you broke the rules, outsmarted someone, or did something you weren’t supposed to.
"The Trial of (Your Name)" – A grand, impossible task you once faced. Maybe it was asking someone out, finishing a math test, or surviving high school—but told like a hero’s quest.
"The Lost City of My Childhood" – A mythical retelling of your hometown, your school, or a place that shaped you, now turned into a realm of legend.
What small, normal thing can you turn into a world-altering event?
If this were an ancient myth, how would it be told? Would there be prophecies, cosmic battles, tragic curses?
How does this mythic version of you compare to the real you?
Who are the other legendary figures in your story? (Friends, family, rivals, teachers?)
"Long ago, when the sky was still young and the stars had yet to settle in their places, there was a boy who refused to sleep on time…"
"It is said that in a time before time, before the first bell ever rang, I attempted the impossible: to make it to school without forgetting something."
"The gods once warned me, but I did not listen. And so I was cursed to burn every meal I have ever attempted to cook."
"The elders tell of the one who tried to defeat the Exam of Shadows, armed with only a broken pen and a caffeine-fueled will to survive."
"Ovid’s Metamorphoses" – A collection of myths where gods reward, punish, and transform mortals.
"The Epic of Gilgamesh" – An ancient story about a hero’s journey and the search for meaning.
"American Gods" by Neil Gaiman – A novel where old gods walk among us, living through myth and memory.
"The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" by Junot Díaz – A modern story that blends personal history with mythic, larger-than-life storytelling.
